Dreams of grandeur
Those things money can't afford
Price tags are figments of the imagination...
For a Dreamer.
Dreams of grandeur like
Black umbrellas sprinkled in diamonds,
So even when it rains I shine.
Dreams of grandeur
Blocking out the fields of broken glass;
The liquor pouring from my people's pores.
And like the sun fading out the darkness,
Fading out my own darkness,
A black man walking on the path of light.
Dreams of grandeur
Imaging my raman noodles
Are actually bowls of caviar
Sipping Kool-Aid,
Pinky up, like it's rose'.
Septa Buses with pad and leather inside
When I ride.
Dreams of grandeur
When you're salary
Can't make your dreams a reality
